Was the recent summer job fair in Varkaus Hall a census for foreigners?

It is undeniable fact that, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”, but we must also understand that, not everyone living in Rome is a Roman. This seems funny but it is a simple logic

Kokonsah is always confused why many employers in Finland have made the recent world economic recession and Finnish language a national anthem to deny many people job especially Foreigners even when there are vacancies! And the question that I ask myself is that, why was the recent job fair in Varkaus held, if employers knew that there are no vacancies?

Was the summer Job fair intended for Finns only or what? If so why then did the employers allowed us to fill the form without setting the record straight? Does it mean there is no job foreigners can do in Finland without Finnish language?

My dear readers, one thing we must all understand is that, language is all about practising; it becomes easy for one to learn if he or she finds him or herself in the midst of native speakers. I enjoy being in Varkaus but the condition here is making me home sick. Actually, one thing that makes Finland, especially Varkaus a boring place for me as a foreigner is the unfriendly atmosphere.

At first, I thought it was heaven. But one thing I have personally observed is that Finns in general don’t value ideas of other nationals and always see foreigners of not having anything good to offer. To me this is what has made life unbearable for most international students here in Varkaus in terms of job hunting even though I understand the problem in Varkaus as a whole in terms of unemployment.

It is sometimes disheartening to learn that, international students in other cities are offered jobs like Posti, cleaning, sorting etc but it is very pathetic to learn that, foreign students here in Varkaus are denied such Job which their friends survive with It.

Is it because those jobs in Varkaus different from the other cities? Why should it be so? Kokonsah has been silence these days because he was hunting for one! And no employer is ready to give Job to foreign students, only few have done that. Maybe readers have to save kokonsah this summer hehehe.

But on a more serious note I will let employers to know that, the little Finnish we learn at school can survive us in doing jobs like cleaning, posti etc and should be in a position to help .For those employers who have been abroad understand the problem of living abroad. Let us not discriminate since it has an effect of painting Finland black. Shalom!

Maybe you could try to get some job from the congregation! They are hiring some people to do gardening every summer.

It might just be that there is no longer jobs even for Finns no more.

I am quite pissed off with this complaining about our language and way of life. If you do not like how we live here then you are free to move away. Maybe you should take your skills and learning back to Ghana instead of whining here?

Oh, just blame me a racist. Sorry, I am not.

Well, i think these message is clear and I know some of the Finns understand our situation, for example, Olli kirjoitti's comments is the kind of comments that we are expecting, but not telling us move away back to Ghana, and i think that is crazy.
