Time to reflect soberly on ourselves

I believe by now everybody is waiting impatiently for the Easter holidays. I personally can't wait to see that wonderful day especially now that the weather is bright with the sun always feeling it reluctant to its sleeping quarters. I love the weather this time in Varkaus and I am day dreaming always to see that wonderful summer atmosphere in Varkaus for the first time as a foreigner.

Actually it's much fun to get caught up in the bright colour decorations that Easter has to offer and I could imagine the kind of fun families would have. But let us not allow this holiday to just slip off our sleeves without recognizing the meaning of it.

Honestly, the true meaning of Easter depends on who you are, where you are from and what you have been thought. In fact my concern about this holiday is not either to be celebrated or not but I am concern about the motive behind this celebration, as a day that our Saviour Jesus Christ Humble himself to be atone on the cross because of the sins of you and I and on the third day rose from the death and now sit in the right hand of our Father interceding for us. So the question is, what is the meaning of this and how does this reflect soberly on our lives as living creatures?

My dear readers, let us put cultural difference aside this time around, and face reality of life. In its true meaning; Easter is a time to pursue holiness as living souls created in the image of God.

However it is also a golden opportunity for parents to not only buy candy's and all kind of goodies to surprise their kids on Easter morning but also to inculcate good morale virtues into their children so that they grow up to become responsible leaders in society, because Charity as it always said, begins at home.

It is a kind of holiday that's not only meant for home cleaning and the rest, but a day to show compassion to our fellow human beings and change our attitude towards our friends and neighbours.

But It is rather unfortunate that Christians, especially the youth, who are the leaders of tomorrow dishonour themselves in all kinds of profanity and immorality and blamed it on modernity and current trends. We must understand that the earthly treasures of wealth, beauty and all kinds of material things are not our permanent place.

We will all one day find ourselves before the judgment throne to render accounts of our deeds and if my memory serves me right, the Bible says, "For it is time for judgment to begin in the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And if it is difficult for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the Godless man and the sinner? Therefore, let those also who suffer according to the will of God entrust their souls to a faithful creator in doing what is right" I Peter 4:17-19.

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter Holiday! Chill but don't drink your head off. Rauha teille!!!!!
